The Itinerary:

We are both very excited to be leaving for Europe next weekend! We have many wonderful adventures planned and some great people to see! Here is an idea of what we will be doing, and who we will be seeing:

  • Saturday, June 29th we board our plane in Portland, OR to Amsterdam, Netherlands. It's a 10 hour flight, which takes us directly into Europe. From there we will quickly catch our plane which takes us into Hannover, Germany on June 30th, around 11:00 am, where Weysa Sall and her mother will meet us.
  • June 30th-July 6th we will stay with Weysa and her family in Werther (Westfalen), Germany. Weysa spent a year at Churchill on an exchanged program, and has returned twice to visit.
  • July 6th Kiana's grandparents will pick us up in Germany and we will go on a road trip to central France, Saint Chely D'apcher, France. It's similar to the distance from Eugene to San Diego.
  • In Saint Chely D'apcher we will stay with Alice Michele and her family. (Alice stayed with the Obie family on a 3 week exchange program 2 summers ago.) We will be in France from July 6th-July 20th. While there, Alice is taking us to the Mediterranean coast where her grandparents live, and also to Puerto de la Selva, Spain where her friend has a flat on the beach.
  • July 17th-20th, we will take a train from Alice's home to Paris. In Paris we will stay with Camille and Valentin, who have also stayed with the Obie family on an exchanged program.
  • July 20th-July 30th we will spend time with Yael Wassen in the Netherlands, she lives in Haarlem which is 20 minutes from Amsterdam.
  • July 30th-August 14th we are flying to Copenhagen, Denmark and staying with Kiana's cousin Kristoffer. Then we are going with her extended family in Denmark to a family reunion. We will also be staying at Kiana's grandparent's house while we are there.
  • Finally, we return home August 14th. We fly out of Billund, Denmark to Amsterdam, and then another long flight from Amsterdam to Portland.
